You know, I'm paranoid about the safety of my family
and home. It just bends me that some of the nastiest people on
earth can get my address, number of children, ss#, credit card
number, age, family situation, name of spouse, number of speeding
tickets, whether I travel or not, what I purchased , when I purchased
it, and the list goes on.
Now I don't mind the e-mail and solicitation mail
I get daily. I have ways of dealing with that. You have them too.
Trash cans and the delete button are easy to use. Since I am a
marketer myself it is interesting and instructive to see what
some others are doing to scare up business.
It is the people who are selling my name and address
and income and credit card type, etc.... that just gets me livid.
I trusted them with the information I gave to purchase a product
or service. I did not give them permission to give that information
to anyone else. I am not their customer but a commodity and that
commodity is royally angry.
It is not the little scammer who is at fault, it
is the credit card company, or government office, or cataloger,
or retailer who collects the information and then sells it to
the scammer.
Sorry, let me get back on the subject.
I am a marketer who believes that anyone who collects
any kind of information about someone should be upfront about
how they will deal with that information. So here it is:
When you subscribe to one of our newsletter/ezines
the information we collect is used solely to send you the newsletter/ezine.
That is all. It is not shared, sold, rented, folded or mutilated.
It is used for one purpose and one purpose only . A list with
first name and e-mail address of who to send a newsletter.
When you win an auction or purchase something from
UniqueBruce, and you do the deed with our secure server, or any
other way, you are giving address, phone number, credit card number,
and any other information needed to make it a smooth purchase
and delivery. The only use of that information is to make the
process a smooth and satisfactory purchase experience. We do not
divulge any of your personal information to any other entity.
If we collect any personal data from a site visitor
from a contest or poll or other interactive collection it is for
the distinct purpose of the contest, poll or other interactive
device. No other purpose is intended or utilized unless you asked
that it be used.
We protect our customer information with encryption
and list management security. Information is collected with a
secure server. We feel that the real underlying principle here
is respect. Respect for the individual as we would like to be
respected. Respect for that individual's privacy. It is ethically
correct.
