FeedbackAt Ebay and other auction sites, they have made what they call "feedback" a very important part of the auction process. This is a good thing. As with catalog and mail order, internet auctions lack any cues that tell us if a seller or winning bidder is honest, fair and ethical. Ebay rely's on a system of ratings called "feedback" that help us determine the nature of this seller or buyer. It is no guarantee but it certainly gives a good indication of this transactional partner's history in previous selling situations on Ebay. Feedback are given to buyer or seller from the two entities involved in any given transaction. Once given it cannot be retracted. You may comment on it and submit that but a feedback is a feedback is a feedback....... Ebay's statement about the feedback profile begins: Every eBay user has a Feedback Profile made up of comments from other eBay users - an official "reputation." Next to any eBay member's User ID, there is a Feedback Rating number in parentheses ( ). For example: Skippy (125) means that this member's User ID is Skippy and he/she has received positive feedback comments from at least 125 other eBay members. The Feedback Rating system is easy. You receive: +1 point for each positive comment 0 points for each neutral comment -1 point for each negative comment A star icon for 10 or more comments Click the star to see what each star color means Don't we all, in any trust situation, prefer to know the history of the person we are doing business with? Internet auctions are certainly transactions that demand a bit of trust. The merchant must trust the winning bidder will pay for the item without ever touching or seeing the item up close for inspection. The winning bidder must trust the merchant to have accurately described the item and actually send it expeditiously after receiving money for the item. If you're a potential buyer, you should check your seller's Feedback Profile. If you're a seller, do the same for your buyer. The Feedback Profile can answer many questions about how a person does business. If you're a winning bidder or seller in an eBay transaction, you can leave feedback for your trading partner. These comments can be positive, neutral, or negative, depending on your experience. In any form of marketing, testimonials from satisfied customers help establish the integrity of any given business. Feedback goes one step further and not only features those testimonials that are positive but also the complaints. |
